Conditions favourable for Discontinuation of Northeast Monsoon rains, as per Meteorological Department of India

The weather conditions are becoming favourable for the Discontinuation of Northeast Monsoon rains in the regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe and adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka around 15th January, 2024.

The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) on Friday informed that light rainfall or snowfall at isolated places is very likely to happen over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on 12th and 13th January and in Himachal Pradesh today.

Similarly, a fresh Western disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 16th January. Under its influence, light rainfall and snowfall at isolated places is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 16th and 17th January and in Uttarakhand on 17th and 18th January 2024.

Dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail for a few hours in night and morning in many parts of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on 12th and 13th January in some areas for the subsequent days.
