Rise in Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales has been seen in December 2023, as per reports from SIAM

Domestic Passenger Vehicle wholesales have been extensively increased by 4 percent in December 2023 as per the information received from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). According to a report from SIAM, 2,86,390 Passenger Vehicles were sold in the month of December 2023 which marked a 4% of Year on Year mark compared to the 2,75,352 Passenger Vehicles sold in December 2022. However, this number is still short from the 3,34,130 units sold in the month of November 2023.

While giving perceptions into the updated data, SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said, In Quarter 3 of Financial Year 2023-24, Passenger Vehicles grew up by 8.3 percent, Commercial Vehicles by 3.5 percent, Three-wheelers by 35.2 percent and Two-wheelers by 22.6 per cent compared to the last year. Passenger vehicles and Three-wheeler segments posted their highest Quarter 3 Sales ever, while Passenger Vehicles are crossed the 4 million units mark for the first time in a Calendar year.

Two-wheeler Domestic wholesales stood at 12,11,966 units last month as against 10,45,052 units in December 2022, a growth of 16 percent. Similarly, three-wheeler wholesales were higher at 50,537 units last month as compared to 38,693 units in December 2022. Further, Tractor sales and Commercial vehicle sales increased by 0.2 percent and 1.3 percent respectively. The Commercial vehicle sales for December were recorded at 9,78,835 units.
