India’s favourite moped ‘Luna’ is likely to launch soon in its all new Electric form E-Luna, bookings to get open from Republic Day onwards

Two wheeler manufacturer company Kinetic Green has Announced that orders of its new Electric two-wheeler, E-Luna can be pre-booked from this Republic Day onwards, requiring a token amount of just Rs. 500. Interested buyers can reserve their E-Luna moped from the Official Kinetic Green website. The pricing of this E-moped is set to be disclosed and revealed in the month of February 2024. The Electric moped E-Luna has already been listed on some E-commerce websites, with the price tag ranging from Rs. 71,990 to Rs. 74,990 (Ex-Showroom price).

This E-moped has consist of 2-piece flat seat set at a height of 760 mm and a raised handlebar. It is equipped with a telescopic front suspension and has dual shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 16-inch spoked wheels. As expected, this Kinetic E-Luna looks similar to the ICE-powered version of yesteryear. The E-Luna has a utilitarian design that appears pretty basic. It has a circular headlamp integrated into a square housing and a rectangular instrument console. In its lifetime Kinetic Green has sold around 5 million units of Luna moped.

According to a listing in E-commerce site Amazon, this E-Luna is powered by a hub-mounted Electric motor that generates 22 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 2 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 110 km and can be charged in 4 hours. The E-Luna weighs just 96 kg and has a top speed of around 50-52 km/hr. After 28 years of being in production, Kinetic stopped making the Luna in early 2000. During its peak, the company may sold around 2000 units per day and enjoyed around 95 percent market share in the moped category.
