PM Modi announces NIT infrastructure boost; Rijiju foresees Jote as next hotspot

In a significant development aimed at bolstering educational infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated new hostel blocks, a central workshop, a research building, and utility buildings at the National Institute of Technology (NIT). The event, graced by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and local MLA Tana Hali from the Doimukh constituency, marked a milestone for the institute.

During his address, Minister Rijiju expressed optimism about Jote emerging as a prominent hub, highlighting the ongoing progress since the initiation of the film institute project in 2014-15. He emphasized the improved infrastructure, envisioning Jote as an eco-blessed zone where residents of Itanagar would eagerly seek accommodation.

Reflecting on the transformative power of education, Rijiju underscored the significance of institutions like NIT and reminisced about a time when concepts like NIT, IITs, and IIMs were unfamiliar during his youth. He lauded India’s remarkable economic growth on the global stage, particularly during the challenging COVID-19 era, attributing it to sound economic policies and a commitment to scientific advancement.

Rijiju reiterated the importance of scientific leadership, citing initiatives like “Jai Vigyan” and “Anushthan” advocated by leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, respectively. He highlighted India’s achievements in space exploration, including successful missions like Chandrayaan and ongoing projects like Gaganyaan and Samudrayaan, symbolizing India’s prowess in scientific innovation.
