Skill India Centre launches in Dhenkanal

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship today said that the Skill India Centre at Dhenkanal will strengthen the skill development landscape of the region, enhancing access to 21st century skills. Skill India Centre in Dhenkanal aims to fulfill aspirations, empower citizens, especially youth, and prepare them for the future, thereby transforming India into a Global Skill Capital.   The launch of SIC will establish Dhenkanal as a future skills hub, instilling confidence in local youth preparing to enter the job market for building lucrative career prospects.

The center will train local youth in new-age skills like graphic design, hospitality, technology services, and leather industry. The SIC aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of India becoming a Global Skill Capital by 2047. It will provide affordable courses and preserve traditional crafts, while also promoting them in contemporary contexts. The center is equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Speaking on the launch, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship further said, “Skill India Centre inaugurated today, if connected with IIMC Dhenkanal will make it a futuristic center of modern communication in the coming days.”
