Next-generation Honda Amaze is getting ready to launch, likely to break cover in this festive season

Honda Motors is working on the next generation update of the sub-4-meter sedan, Amaze, and it’s expected to pack features similar as the superior sedan, City. The third-gen Amaze will replace the second-gen model, which has been around since 2018, when it goes on sale by Diwali 2024.

As per an Autocar India report, ACE platform that underpins the City and Elevate will also see duty on the next Amaze, with some modifications; particularly a much shorter wheelbase than the City’s 2,600mm and the Elevate’s 2,650mm, to bring the overall length of the Amaze under four metres. The current Amaze has a wheelbase that is 2,470mm long – a good 130mm shorter than the City. This will help Honda consolidate its India lineup from two platforms to one, and help increase economies of scale.

The new Amaze is also said to be equipped with ADAS or at least some features of ADAS like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, etc. When it comes to engine options, the current-gen Amaze comes with only one petrol engine. The 1.2 litre 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generates 90 BHP of power and 110 NM of torque. It is paired to 5 Speed MT or a 7 Speed CVT. Previously, it used to get diesel engine, but Honda discontinued offering diesel in all of its model, and only offers Petrol powered engines. It remains to be seen, if they decide to offer CNG fuel option in the future.
