Will the price of gas oil and diesel increase?

Modi government increased the price of fuel in the beginning of March. Basically the price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased. Besides, the price of aviation fuel ATF has also been increased. Also, windfall tax on crude petroleum has been increased. The guidelines in this regard have been published by the Center on Thursday.

According to the information released by the government, the windfall tax on petroleum food will be Rs 4600 per metric ton from now on. Which was 3300 rupees earlier. That is, the cost per metric ton increased by 1300 dhaka. As per the government notification, the new rates are effective from March 1. Earlier on February 15, the government increased the window tax from Rs 3200 to Rs 3300 per tonne.

On the other hand, there is some relief. The government has brought down the windfall tax on diesel from Rs 1.50 per liter to Rs. At the same time the windfall tax on petrol and essential turbine fuels will remain zero as before. Notably, in July 2022, for the first time, the central government imposed a windfall tax on energy.
