APSCPCR team leads charge against POCSO cases with visit to Anjaw district

In a proactive bid to tackle cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a dedicated team from the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) undertook a vital mission to Anjaw district. Collaborating with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), and Women and Child Development (WCD) department, the team ventured into Chambab village and Government Upper Primary School in Manchal circle.

Led by Ngurang Achung, Niri Chongrowju, and Honluk Lukham, the team engaged in extensive dialogues with stakeholders ranging from community members, school authorities, and local leaders to victims and their families affected by POCSO cases.

In a pivotal meeting held at the circuit house, Niri Chongrowju elaborated on the juvenile justice system, while Ngurang Achung provided insights into the nuances of the POSCO Act. The gathering witnessed a diverse representation, including officials from various administrative bodies, law enforcement agencies, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI), Gaon Burahs (GBs), NGOs, and the Child Welfare Committee.
