As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to grace our state with his presence on March 9th, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring impeccable sanitation standards. Mayor IMC Tamme Phassang has issued a heartfelt appeal to all residents, urging them to embrace responsibility and uphold cleanliness and discipline across the city. Highlighting the dedication of IMC, Mayor Phassang emphasized that although areas like Chimpu and the Airport vicinity in Holongi fall beyond their official jurisdiction, the corporation is steadfastly assuming accountability for sanitation and hygiene. Efforts are in full swing, with IMC’s machinery operating tirelessly day and night to ensure the capital shines brightly and remains free of garbage.

In a notable demonstration of commitment to community development, Mayor Phassang, alongside corporators, inaugurated the enhancement of internal roads at Yawn Colony in G Sector Naharlagun. Ward no. 16 under the IMC’s purview witnessed the allocation of funds amounting to 7 crore rupees for a local school, a project yet to be officially inaugurated. Essential infrastructure and furnishings have already been provided, showcasing the corporation’s proactive stance towards educational advancement.

Mayor Phassang underscored the significance of electoral choices in securing development funds, advocating for the election of BJP MPs and MLAs to fortify Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives. The recent allocation of party tickets to sitting MPs garnered praise from the Mayor, who commended the BJP high command for its attentive approach to public sentiment.
