BJP office bearers of 39th Mebo urge state high command to consider party veterans for ticket

The office bearers of the 39th Mebo BJP Mandal gathered for a press briefing at the BJP Mandal office in Pasighat, issuing a plea to the state BJP high command. They appealed for the consideration of party veterans among ticket aspirants for the upcoming elections, specifically urging against granting the ticket to recent defector Shri Lombo Tayeng, who switched allegiance from Congress to BJP.

Expressing their concerns, Riju Megu and Aduk Perme highlighted the potential repercussions of awarding the party ticket to Tayeng, emphasizing the detrimental impact it could have on BJP’s prospects in the 39th Mebo Assembly Constituency. They stressed the importance of prioritizing loyalty and dedication to the party’s values and principles in the ticket allocation process. Their sentiments were echoed by other speakers, including Rokom Borang, who reiterated the grassroots workers’ unanimous opposition to Tayeng’s candidacy.

Amid speculation that the state BJP high command might lean towards granting the ticket to Tayeng, the ground-level sentiment remains steadfastly against such a decision. The party workers’ collective plea underscores their commitment to upholding the integrity and credibility of the BJP in the constituency.
