Shikshagraha leverages AWS cloud to revolutionize public education in India

Shikshagraha, an ambitious initiative to improve one million public schools in India by 2030, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its technology-driven school improvement programs. The movement aims to uplift 40 million children across 100 districts through AWS’s cloud computing solutions, enabling a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure.

Shikshagraha will utilize key AWS services, including AI and real-time data analysis tools, to streamline collaboration among local government bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and community groups. The initiative is already operational in states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh, focusing on enhancing teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

In Itanagar, stakeholders are optimistic about the impact of cloud technology in transforming the public education landscape. AWS’s robust digital infrastructure is expected to enable local schools to implement micro-improvements effectively, ensuring that regional challenges are addressed with customized, data-driven solutions.“Our collaboration with AWS allows us to focus on collective action for systemic education transformation,” said Vijayashree Urs, CTO of ShikshaLokam. Pankaj Gupta, Leader of AWS India Public Sector, emphasized AWS’s role in providing cutting-edge cloud solutions to empower educators and local communities across India.
