Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched its first Company Owned Toyota Used Car Outlet (TUCO) in Northeast India, strategically positioning itself to tap into the region’s burgeoning organized used car market. The facility in Guwahati spans 4,000 square feet, showcasing over 15 certified vehicles inspected through a rigorous 203-point check. This expansion is part of TKM’s broader plan to capitalize on the 8% CAGR growth forecast for India’s used car market.
TUCO’s offerings, including warranties of up to 30,000 kilometers or two years, transparent pricing, and online car valuation tools, align with consumer demand for reliability and transparency. These features make TUCO a strong competitor in a market often characterized by fragmented supply chains and inconsistent quality.
The launch is expected to have ripple effects in Dimapur, a key economic hub in Nagaland. The city’s evolving consumer preferences toward organized pre-owned car markets align with Toyota’s promise of quality and after-sales support, making it an attractive option for Dimapur’s growing middle-class buyers.
