The DK Auditorium Hall of the Legislative Assembly hosted the closing of the Arunachal Youth Parliament (AYP) 2.0 on Friday. The two-day event was a vibrant celebration of the intellectual vitality of the state’s young. Don Bosco College in Jollang was the top performance and received a citation, a trophy, a cash prize, and the coveted Best Institution title. Jote from Jarbom Gamlin Government Law College (JGGLC) placed second, but Ganko Miso from JGGLC was the most outstanding, taking home the Best Speaker and Most Promising Youth Leader awards.
The Chief Guest during the departure celebration was Pema Norbu Thongchi, OSD to Minister-Education, RWD, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism, and Library. Her speech was inspirational. Thongchi urged the students to explore “hot and burning” topics while offering constructive criticism and guidance, emphasizing their role as “positive agents of change” in bringing Arunachal toward prosperity. He encouraged young people to assess societal problems and promote holistic development in order to help find a solution. The Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) president, guest of honor Amar Sangno, inspired the audience with his speech and exhorted them to embrace change and explore new opportunities.
