Voters and supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Kiyit and Borguli village in the 39th Mebo (ST) Assembly Constituency have urged the state BJP high command to grant the party ticket to Oken Tayeng. Expressing their collective sentiment, the grassroots level voters emphasized that the BJP’s ticket for the MLA candidate should be bestowed upon Oken Tayeng, dismissing any alternative, including Lombo Tayeng. Notable BJP supporters and well-wishers such as Mirem Perme, Kompok Tayeng, Appok Megu, and Smty Aputy Perme have rallied behind this appeal, urging the state BJP high command, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, to endorse Oken Tayeng as the rightful candidate.
Amidst four ticket aspirants vying within the BJP for the 39th Mebo (ST) Assembly Constituency, namely, Shri Olen Rome, Dr. Dangi Perme, Shri Oken Tayeng, and Dr. Mandip Perme, the grassroots’ unwavering support for Oken Tayeng underscores their conviction in his leadership. Addressing the complexity arising from multiple aspirants, the grassroots appeal seeks clarity and solidarity from the state and central BJP high command. Smty Aputy Perme, a prominent female voice among the speakers, highlighted the challenges faced by BJP voters and workers, living in the shadow of opposition despite BJP’s governance at the state and central levels. Appok Megu, a Gram Panchayat Member from Kiyit village, lamented the lack of benefits reaching BJP supporters, citing instances of deprivation under government schemes.
