Avani Institute of Design in Kerala is making significant strides in engaging with the Northeast, responding to the rising interest in architecture among students in the region. As applications to design schools grow, the Institute has seen a steady increase in students from Northeast India applying for its five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program. For the 2025–26 academic year, admissions are now open, with the program available via the official website.
To deepen its ties with the region, Avani will introduce its flagship Avani Reach Program in Northeastern cities in 2025. This initiative targets high school and higher secondary students interested in architecture and design, aiming to inspire them to use architecture as a tool for personal expression and community development. Previously, the program has been conducted successfully in cities like Bangalore, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, and Dubai.
Ar. Tony Joseph, Chairman and Principal of the Institute, praised the region’s creative energy, noting a rising number of students from Sikkim and surrounding areas choosing architecture to shape their futures. The market for architecture aspirants is thriving, with an increasing number of students exploring educational opportunities outside the region. This growing interest aligns with Avani’s commitment to nurturing young talent from across India, providing them with an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
