Mukesh Ambani Pushes Deep-Tech Overhaul As Reliance Nears Golden Jubilee

As Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) approaches its 50th anniversary, the company is undergoing a major transformation, positioning itself as a deep-tech-led enterprise. In a letter to shareholders featured in RIL’s annual report, Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said Reliance is embracing rapid global change by reinventing its core businesses using advanced technologies.

The company has identified four key growth pillars — Retail, Digital Services, Media & Entertainment, and New Energy — all of which are innovation-driven and technology-first, aimed at disrupting industries while delivering value to Indian and global consumers.

Ambani highlighted that Reliance is integrating next-gen technologies across all its sectors — from energy and entertainment to retail and digital services. Over 1,000 in-house scientists are spearheading R&D in areas like AI, renewable energy, and digital platforms. He described this transformation as an opportunity, not a challenge.

Reliance is also future-proofing its manufacturing capabilities to support India’s global ambitions. Aligning with India’s development vision during the “Amrit Kaal,” Ambani emphasized Reliance’s role as a committed, technology-led partner in nation-building.

Despite global headwinds, RIL posted strong FY25 results with a 7.1% rise in revenue to ₹10.71 lakh crore and net profit of ₹81,309 crore, up 2.9%.
