Rozgar Mela 2.0 Siliguri Sees, with 60+ Companies Offering 10,000+ Jobs to Youth

The Darjeeling Welfare Society today announced the successful opening of RozgarMela 2.0, marking one of the region’s largest recruitment initiatives with more than 10,000 job opportunities offered by over 60 top Indian companies. The event witnessed a strong turnout from candidates across North Bengal, the hills and neighbouring districts, underscoring growing corporate confidence in eastern India’s talent landscape.

Participating organisations include HDFC, Axis Bank, Bandhan Bank, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Electronics, Taj Group, ITC, Indigo Airlines and Apollo Hospitals, among others offering PAN-India and regional placements. This year’s fair features a 100% in-person recruitment model, beginning with structured career counselling followed by personal interviews, enabling candidates to gain clear insights into job expectations before assessments.

Corporate HR leaders note that the strong response at Siliguri aligns with rising hiring sentiment in the eastern economic corridor. BFSI, aviation, hospitality and electronics sectors are seeing increased demand for skilled workers, and large-scale job fairs in neighbouring cities are expected to further strengthen talent supply chains and inter-regional workforce mobility.

RajyaSabha MP Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringlaemphasised that the initiative reflects the youth’s aspirations and supports the Viksit Bharat vision. MPs Shri Samik Bhattacharya and Shri Jayanto Kumar Roy, along with Shri Ram LalJi, commended the fair’s role in connecting skill with opportunity. Organisers expect an even stronger response on Day 2.
