The Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court has launched its official mobile application, the GHCKB App, becoming the first High Court bench in Northeast India to do so. Unveiled by Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar, the app was developed in-house by the ICT team and aims to provide citizen-friendly services such as real-time information, case-tracking tools, and increased accessibility for lawyers and litigants. It enhances transparency, allowing individuals in remote areas to stay informed about court proceedings. Chief Justice Kumar emphasized the importance of technology adoption in the legal community and commended young advocates for their preparedness in court.
Registrar Ajongba Imchen highlighted the app’s role in bridging the gap between the Bench, the Bar, and the public, offering easy access to essential information like case details, cause lists, and live-streaming of proceedings. Features include daily cause lists, digital display boards, real-time case status updates, and a WhatsApp channel for instant notifications. The GHCKB App is available for download on the Google Play Store.
