Cultural programmes and a community feast characterized the 52nd Si Donyi Hilo, a festival for the Tagin community, celebrated at Si Donyi Jaaring, Lumro village in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. Members donned colorful traditional attire, attending the day-long festivities. State Home Minister Mama Natung, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage, urging the youth to uphold traditional values. He noted the state’s efforts, including the creation of a dedicated department for indigenous cultures and the establishment of Gurukuls, with more proposed in the budget. Natung also mentioned providing honorariums to registered priests. Dance competitions culminated in victories for the Si Nyijir Ponung team, Anv Yapv, and the Ghunchi Ane dance group. Additionally, a memorandum was submitted to the Home Minister seeking flood protection for the festival ground.
