Tripura is set to showcase its rising technical prowess on the national stage. The Directorate of Skill Development has announced that a 17-member state contingent will participate in the prestigious IndiaSkills National Competition 2025–26, beginning tomorrow, March 29. Competing in domains ranging from automobile technology to cybersecurity, these young professionals represent the frontline of Tripura’s evolving industrial landscape. The journey to the nationals follows a stellar performance by Tripura’s youth at the regional qualifiers held in Assam. The state team demonstrated exceptional command over modern trades, clinching two gold medals in automobile technology and mobile app development, alongside two silver medals in cloud computing and electrical installation.
Under the competition guidelines, these regional victors have earned the right to represent the state at the national level. However, Tripura’s influence at the competition extends even further. The state has secured direct “walkover” entries in five high-tech trades, with 13 additional candidates qualifying in emerging sectors. These include future-ready domains such as Industry 4.0, ICT infrastructure networks, renewable energy, digital construction, and cybersecurity.
The competition will be held across multiple strategic venues. While the primary onsite events are scheduled for Greater Noida, several offsite technical challenges will take place in Gandhinagar.
The IndiaSkills Competition serves as India’s premier platform for identifying talent capable of competing at the global WorldSkills level. For the participants from Tripura, this is more than a contest; it is a gateway to international recognition.
The Directorate of Skill Development has reiterated its commitment to fostering a robust skilling ecosystem in the state. As the 17-member team prepares to depart, officials have extended their best wishes, noting that this level of participation reflects the state’s successful push toward industry-relevant education. As the competition kicks off this Sunday, all eyes will be on these 17 ambassadors of Tripura. Their performance will not only bring laurels to the state but also signal Tripura’s readiness to contribute to India’s digital and industrial future.
