This directive was issued on March 31, 2026, by the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) and is aimed at ceasing the issuance of new trade licenses for establishments that include meat-related terms in their names. IMC Joint Commissioner Datum Gadi emphasized that numerous businesses have been securing licenses under “business nomenclature specifically referring to particular animal meats,” leading to the need for this regulatory measure.
