Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited Hikes CNG, PNG Prices in Tripura

Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) announced an increase in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in Tripura, attributing the rise to elevated gas procurement costs. The revised CNG prices are now Rs 85.15 per kg in West Tripura, up from Rs 82, and Rs 89.95 per kg in Gomati district, increased from Rs 86.80. These changes took effect from April 2. For PNG, domestic consumers in West Tripura will face a price hike to Rs 44.41 per standard cubic metre (SCM) from Rs 42.30, while government quarters will see their rates increase from Rs 47.02 to Rs 49.12 per SCM. In Gomati district, domestic PNG prices have risen from Rs 46.54 to Rs 48.53 per SCM. Commercial and industrial PNG rates are also affected; West Tripura’s rates are now Rs 56.23 per SCM (previously Rs 53.27), and Gomati district’s revised rate is Rs 53.57 per SCM, up from Rs 49.37. Additionally, PNG prices for industrial use at the Bodhjungnagar Industrial Growth Centre have increased from Rs 39.65 to Rs 42.90 per SCM. This price revision is anticipated to directly affect domestic consumers, transport operators, commercial establishments, and industries throughout the state due to rising fuel costs.
