Poco has officially launched its new M8x 5G smartphone in India. The device has been introduced in the mid-range segment and comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, a 7,900mAh battery and a large 120Hz display. The smartphone will be available in three colour options, including a Leather Green variant featuring a vegan leather finish.The Poco M8x 5G is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor based on a 4nm process. Poco claims that the phone has achieved more than 6,50,000 points on AnTuTu.
It comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.For the display, Poco has equipped the handset with a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen gets Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The phone also features Wet Touch 2.0 technology, which helps maintain touch responsiveness when the user’s fingers or display are wet. It has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.On the camera front, the smartphone features a 50MP primary rear camera with 2x digital zoom and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP front camera. The device also supports 1080p video recording.The 7,900mAh battery is one of the key features of the Poco M8x 5G. It supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging.
According to Poco, the smartphone can deliver up to 35 hours of social media scrolling, 13 hours of GPS navigation, 27 days of messaging and 64 hours of music playback on a single charge.The smartphone supports dual SIM connectivity and runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Poco has promised four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which could make the phone a long-term option for buyers.The Poco M8x 5G will go on sale in India on August 27 at 12 PM IST via Flipkart. The 4GB+128GB variant has been priced at ₹20,999, while the 6GB+128GB model costs ₹22,999. Buyers can also avail themselves of bank discounts of up to ₹2,000.The phone will be offered in Black, Blue and Leather Green colour options. With its large battery, 120Hz screen and Snapdragon processor, the Poco M8x 5G is positioned to compete in the competitive sub-₹25,000 smartphone segment.
