Shree Setu, the first Trumpet Bridge of Odisha is likely to get Inaugurated by today in Puri city

Along with the inauguration of Srimandir Parikrama Project on Wednesday, the worshipped town of Puri will obtain Odisha’s first Trumpet Bridge, named as ‘Shree Setu’. The Shree Setu is a vital part of Jagannath Heritage Corridor Project which will be inaugurated very soon. A gate is built to welcome the devotees entering Puri through Shree Setu Bridge and a View Tower is also constructed where tourists can get a Glance of the entire city.

The newly built ‘Shree Setu’ Bridge also known as ‘Trumpet Bridge’ which is 1.5 kilometer long bypass stretch, would now allow vehicles coming from Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri to directly reach a multi level parking spot at Jagannath Ballav area. It has been built to facilitate travellers visiting the temple without entering in the city while reducing travel time to the 12th century shrine by upto one hour.

The newly constructed 60 metre wide and bow shaped Bridge connects four lanes of the road and has been built on 37 Acres of land. This bridge is made at an expense of Rs 161 Crore. The first bridge is over the Mangalahat Birharekrishnapur bypass while another bridge is over the Mangalahat Devighat road. While one bridge will be used to make entry in the town, the other one will be used to exit from the town.
