All Building Permits In Arunachal To Be Issued Online Only

Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja announced on Wednesday that all building construction permits in Arunachal Pradesh will now be issued exclusively through an online platform. The announcement came during the launch of the Online Building Permission System (OBPS), developed to simplify and streamline the permit process across the state.

Raja stated that the OBPS aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility, aligning with the government’s vision of enhancing public services under the ease of doing business framework. He emphasized the need to widely publicize the system and its mandatory nature.

To support OBPS, the Directorate of Town Planning will upgrade its website from static to dynamic mode, making it more interactive, user-friendly, and capable of handling online transactions.

Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta noted that OBPS will shorten approval times and will later be implemented by local urban bodies. Urban Affairs Secretary Nyali Ete added that the system will be handed over to district planning authorities. The project is jointly developed by MoHUA, GoAP, and NIC Shillong.
