Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has signed key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies, Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks India to launch advanced skill development programmes in 5G, AI/ML, networking, and other digital technologies at its premier training institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur.
Under its agreement with Ericsson India, an Ericsson 5G Centre of Excellence will be set up at BRBRAITT. This will provide practical and online training through the Ericsson Educate Program to over 2,000 students annually. BSNL will provide classroom space, while Ericsson contributes trainers, labs, and a global curriculum.
Qualcomm Technologies will launch the Qualcomm Institute to offer specialised training in 5G and AI to students, BSNL trainers, and government officials, with premium content, live sessions, internships, and free training for 100 participants in the first year.
Cisco Systems, through its Networking Academy Program, will help boost skills in networking, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure by offering free online tools and courses, coordinated by BSNL nationwide.
Nokia will establish a 5G and AI/ML lab to train 300 students yearly, offering certification with the Telecom Sector Skill Council. These efforts support India’s telecom R&D, innovation, and skill development goals.
