In anticipation of a potential visit from a Very Very Important Person (VVIP) to Assam via Dimapur Airport on April 6, 2026, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Aotula T. Imchen, has implemented temporary security measures in Dimapur and Chumoukedima districts. Chumoukedima district will be classified as a “Red Zone” (No Fly Zone) from 0600 to 1800 hours on that date, during which the operation of any Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) or drones is strictly forbidden. It is widely believed that the VVIP in question is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to travel to Assam for election campaigning. Additionally, the order prohibits all forms of firing practice by security personnel, civil police, central forces, private firing ranges, and licensed firearm holders during the specified hours, and the use of firecrackers is also banned for this period.
