The programme brought together senior specialists including Dr. Harsh Jain, Senior Consultant – Neurosurgery, Dr. Arya Chaudhuri, Consultant – Cardiology, Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty, Consultant – Emergency, and Dr. Arunava Roy, HOD – Gynaecologic Oncology. The experts discussed the rising burden of neurological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, cancer cases and the increasing demand for timely emergency care across Northeast India.
The session highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, preventive healthcare and public awareness regarding neurological emergencies, cardiac diseases and cancer care. Participants were also trained in CPR and basic life support techniques aimed at improving emergency response during cardiac arrests and medical emergencies before professional assistance arrives.
Doctors at the event said lifestyle-related disorders, stroke cases and cardiac illnesses are steadily rising across the Northeast, while delayed access to specialised treatment continues to remain a challenge in remote areas.
