Tai Tagak Named BJP Candidate for Rajya Sabha Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated senior party leader Tai Tagak as its candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Arunachal Pradesh, signalling the party’s confidence in one of its most experienced and longstanding leaders in the state. The announcement comes ahead of the Rajya Sabha election and is being seen as recognition of Tagak’s contribution to both the party organization and public life in Arunachal Pradesh over several decades. Tagak is a veteran BJP leader who has played a key role in strengthening the party’s presence across the northeastern state. He previously served as the State President of the BJP and also held the position of Advisor to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Known for his strong grassroots connect, Tagak has remained actively engaged in public service and community outreach initiatives across different regions of the state. During his political career, he has worked towards strengthening the party organization, encouraging public participation in governance and promoting inclusive development. Apart from his political responsibilities, Tagak has maintained close associations with several socio-cultural and educational organizations. He has been actively involved with organizations such as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh.

His contributions have been particularly noted in efforts aimed at preserving and promoting Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous traditions, cultural heritage and community values. Through his engagement with various social and cultural platforms, he has supported initiatives focused on safeguarding the state’s rich cultural identity.
