Assam’s ‘Juiphool’ Wins Best Assamese Feature Film, Tale Set In Assam-Nagaland Border Area Honoured

‘Juiphool’, directed by Jadumoni Dutta, has won the Best Assamese Feature Film award at the 72nd National Film Awards.
Juiphool is a tale of two mothers from the conflict-ridden Assam-Nagaland border area, where the daily routine of the villagers of Naragaon has radically altered: vigilance at night,and rest during the day. 
The 72nd National Film Awards winners were announced on Saturday. It included films that were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
The awards were announced by Jayaraj, Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury, Aseem Sinha, Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury, A. Chandrasekhar, Chairperson of the Best Writing on Cinema Jury in the presence of Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan M.N., Joint Secretary (Films) and Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB).
Article 370 won the Best Feature Film award, while Bhangaar was named Best Non-Feature Film and Ram-Nami received the Best Documentary award.
Yami Gautam won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for Article 370, while Mammootty (Bramayugam) and Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion) shared the Best Actor in a Leading Role award.
Randeep Hooda won the Best Debut Director award for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, while blockbuster films like Kalki 2898 AD, Amaran, Pushpa: The Rule Part-02, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Stree 2, also bagged major honours, reflecting the diversity and excellence of Indian cinema.
