The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Wednesday held a consultative meeting of its legislators and senior party leaders to discuss the Naga political issue, disaster response and organisational matters.
The meeting was held at the party’s central office in Kohima under the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
According to the NPF, the meeting reviewed various issues concerning the current situation in the state. Addressing the gathering, Rio stressed the need to expedite efforts towards resolving the long-pending Naga political issue while ensuring balanced development across Nagaland.
He urged party leaders to remain united and proactive in addressing both political and developmental challenges facing the state.
The meeting also expressed concern over the recent natural disasters that have affected different parts of Nagaland, resulting in the loss of lives, damage to property and disruption of livelihoods. The party resolved to extend all possible support for relief and restoration efforts and assist communities affected by the disasters.
Organisational matters also figured prominently during the discussions. Party leaders deliberated on measures to strengthen internal coordination, improve grassroots engagement and prepare a roadmap for the party’s future activities.
Appealing for unity among the people, Rio said collective efforts were essential to safeguard the interests of the Naga people and to achieve lasting peace and sustainable progress.
The meeting reaffirmed the NPF’s commitment to public service, unity and the overall welfare of the people of Nagaland.
