Axis Max Life Insurance Ltd, formerly Max Life Insurance Company Ltd, reported a 17% year-on-year growth in Individual Adjusted First Year Premium (FYP) to ₹1,810 crore in the first quarter of FY27, while Value of New Business (VNB) rose 33% to ₹446 crore.
The company’s private market share increased by 13 basis points to 10.1%, while Total Annualized Premium Equivalent (APE) grew 15% to ₹1,922 crore. Gross Written Premium rose 19% to ₹7,607 crore, supported by a 20% increase in renewal premium to ₹4,639 crore. New business margin improved to 23.2% from 20.1% a year earlier.
Axis Max Life’s Assets Under Management crossed the ₹2 lakh crore milestone, reaching ₹2,02,621crore, up 11%. Embedded Value increased 15% to ₹30,415 crore, while individual new business sum assured grew 32%. Group Credit Life business rose 57%, while Protection and Health grew 44% and Annuity business surged 116%.
The performance could support growing interest in life insurance and protection-oriented products in Guwahati and the wider Northeast, where insurers are increasingly expanding distribution through partnership and digital channels. The company’s focus on protection, health and retirement products may also strengthen its appeal among self-employed and digitally active customers in the region.
At the parent level, Max Financial Services reported consolidated revenue excluding investment income of ₹7,289 crore, up 18% year-on-year, while consolidated PAT rose 37% to ₹118 crore.
