Digital Expansion Planned for 24/7 Outward Remittances via Mobile and Net Banking

IndusInd Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with JP Morgan Payments to significantly enhance its outward remittance services, enabling retail and corporate customers to transfer funds across 123 currencies directly in the beneficiaries’ local denominations. By integrating JP Morgan Payments’ proprietary Xpedite solution, the private sector lender aims to streamline cross-border money transfers, reduce reliance on intermediate currency conversions, and boost overall settlement efficiency through automated real-time foreign exchange rate feeds and a vast global payment infrastructure. Currently accessible across IndusInd Bank branch networks nationwide, the institution plans to rapidly expand the service to its digital channels, including internet and mobile banking platforms, allowing account holders to initiate secure international wire transfers round the clock. Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Ganesh Sankaran, Executive Director at IndusInd Bank, emphasized that partnering with JP Morgan Payments reinforces the bank’s core international transactional capabilities while offering unprecedented reach across global markets and ensuring seamless direct local-currency settlements. Reaffirming this focus on operational synergy, Guhaprasath Rajagopal, Head of India Payments at JP Morgan Payments, noted that the alliance uniquely combines J.P. Morgan’s vast global banking capabilities with deep local expertise to facilitate faster, safer, and more transparent international payments for Indian consumers. The initiative highlights JP Morgan’s formidable footprint in transaction processing, as the global financial leader processes nearly $12 trillion in daily payments across more than 160 countries and over 120 currencies, establishing a highly robust foundation for IndusInd Bank’s modern remittance ecosystem. Ultimately, this integration addresses the growing demand for frictionless cross-border payments among Indian businesses and individuals, setting a new benchmark for speed, currency variety, and transparency in international financial transactions.
