Nissan Tekton set to shake up India’s C-SUV market ahead of 2026 launch

Nissan Motor India has provided an early glimpse of its upcoming C-SUV, the All-New Tekton, slated for launch in 2026. Drawing design cues from the iconic Nissan Patrol, the Tekton is positioned as a premium, performance-driven vehicle, blending bold aesthetics with advanced technology. The name “Tekton,” derived from Greek meaning “craftsman” or “architect,” underscores Nissan’s focus on precision engineering and innovation for modern Indian consumers.

As the second product under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy, the Tekton will be manufactured at the Chennai plant in collaboration with Renault, serving both domestic demand and select export markets. Notable design elements include a muscular stance, C-shaped headlamps, sculpted bonnet, and a rear lightbar with dynamic tail-lamps. The front doors feature subtle mountain-inspired motifs, reflecting the brand’s attention to detail and premium craftsmanship.

Pre-launch inquiries suggest strong potential sales in the region, reflecting the city’s rising demand for compact and mid-size SUVs. According to Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan India, the Tekton is central to Nissan’s growth strategy, expected to strengthen the brand’s market presence and set new benchmarks in India’s competitive C-SUV segment.
