Historic Willys Jeep Rally Pays Tribute to World War II Legacy in Arunachal Pradesh

Vintage Willys Jeeps participated in a rally in Arunachal Pradesh, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The event began at The Hump WW-II Museum in Pasighat and concluded at Nampong, celebrating the significant contributions of Arunachal Pradesh during the war, particularly through the historical Ledo (Stilwell) Road. Organized by the Flatfenders Club of Nagaland under retired DGP TJ Longkumer, the rally featured community stops and emphasized public involvement and remembrance. The commemoration was inaugurated by Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing, who, along with vice chairman Oken Tayeng, underscored the importance of recognizing the efforts of World War II heroes and boosting historical tourism in the region.
