State Govt Announces ‘Nagaland–Japan Connect 2026’ to Promote Shared Growth and Global Engagement

The Government of Nagaland, through the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and the Centre of Excellence for Foreign Languages (CoEFL), is organizing Nagaland-Japan Connect 2026. This initiative aims to enhance investment and foster cooperation between Nagaland and Japan by building people-to-people ties and shared opportunities. It follows a high-level delegation led by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio to Japan, which resulted in a memorandum of understanding with Kochi Prefecture in July 2025 to promote human resource exchange, agricultural technology collaboration, and strategic partnerships.

The initiative aligns with the state government’s focus on human capital development, integrating skill development, language proficiency, and cultural exchange through CoEFL at Nagaland University. The introduction of Japanese as a foreign language by partner ARMS Incorporation aims to equip Naga youth with essential skills while strengthening bilateral ties and enabling future collaborations. The event will facilitate income generation and remittance flows, contributing to local economic development.

Nagaland-Japan Connect 2026 will include job opportunities in various sectors, career sensitization, interviews with Japanese companies, cultural activities, and the exchange of memos of understanding. It aspires to become an annual flagship event to enhance international cooperation and further human resource development, cultural initiatives, research, and business opportunities.
