Disaster Preparedness in Focus as Mock Drill Held on Feb 23–24

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of Chumoukedima, Nagaland is set to conduct a Mock Disaster Management Exercise on February 23 and 24, as part of disaster preparedness initiatives for 2025-26. Led by Deputy Commissioner Polan John, the exercise will unfold in two phases, starting with a Table Top Exercise on February 23 at 11 am at the DC Office Conference Hall, followed by the main Mock Exercise on February 24 at 11 am in Chumoukedima Village Ground. The purpose of the drill is to enhance inter-departmental coordination, evaluate emergency response systems, and improve community readiness for disasters. Participation from various departments, including security forces, health officials, and village authorities, is mandated. The Deputy Commissioner has called for comprehensive cooperation among all relevant departments and agencies to ensure the exercise is executed efficiently.
