Arunachal Pradesh’s Culinary Heritage Celebrated at Mumbai Food Awards

Arunachal Pradesh highlighted its indigenous culinary traditions at the Times Food & Nightlife Awards in Mumbai, showcasing a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes such as Amin, Chambai, Tasse, black rice, and churpi, accompanied by condiments made from local herbs. The event was held at The Westin in Powai, featuring an array of regional cuisines and attended by chefs, industry professionals, and hospitality stakeholders. Notable offerings included beverages like Sumac Cold Brew and Smoked Green Tea, which attracted considerable interest. The initiative aimed to enhance awareness of Arunachal Pradesh’s food culture and engage a broader audience in discussions about regional Indian cuisines. The stall, led by Chef Pinky Veo and supported by the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and the Department of Tourism from Arunachal Pradesh, received assistance from local culinary talents. Observers indicated that such national representations can elevate lesser-known cuisines and foster cultural tourism, while also facilitating collaborations among culinary and tourism professionals in the industry. The event, organized by The Times of India, is recognized as a key platform in India’s food and hospitality sector.
