“First become human, and leave Hindu-Muslim politics.” This remark was made on Wednesday in Barpeta district by MLA and AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal. Criticizing leaders who indulge in politics of religious division, Ajmal said, “People who talk like this are not even human, they are worse than animals.”
After interacting with flood-affected people, Badruddin Ajmal said, “You will neither be Hindu nor Muslim. You are the child of a human. I don’t know when you will become human.”
Criticizing leaders engaged in divisive religious politics, the AIUDF President said that instead of politics that divides people, one should first learn to behave like a human being. He added, “People who say such things are not human, they are worse than animals. Tell them to become human first. At least stop talking about Hindus and Muslims even once.”
Badruddin Ajmal further stated that during disasters like floods, the focus should be on rescue, relief, and rehabilitation instead of politics. The AIUDF chief also urged everyone to move away from politics centered on religion and identity, and to deal with the situation with a humanitarian approach.
