The Arunachal Pradesh government has enhanced financial assistance for kidney, bone marrow and liver transplants under its healthcare support programme, effecting a hike of Rs 2.5 lakh for each of the three procedures.
In a video message on social media, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the enhanced assistance was aimed at strengthening support for patients requiring expensive and specialised treatment.
“Under the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY), there is an increase in organ transplantation assistance. For kidney transplant, the new amount is Rs 12.5 lakh from the existing Rs 10 lakh; for bone marrow transplant, it was increased to Rs 17.5 lakh from Rs 15 lakh; and for liver transplant, it has been enhanced to Rs 22.5 lakh from Rs 20 lakh,” Khandu said.
CMAAY is a flagship health assurance scheme by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at providing cashless hospitalization coverage to eligible residents. The scheme is designed to ensure that families in the state can access quality healthcare services without financial distress.
