The housewarming ceremony of Geeta Nagar Police Station under New Guwahati constituency was completed today. Popular MLA of New Guwahati constituency, Diplu Ranjan Sarma, was present as the chief guest at the function.
Participating in the event, MLA Sarma highly appreciated the service of Geeta Nagar Police Station. He said that since its inception, the police station has been performing its duty with great efficiency and dedication in strengthening the law and order system in the area as well as maintaining public safety and peace. At present, this new house located within the Guwahati Doordarshan premises has been taken as a rented house to carry out office work, but he expressed strong hope that in the coming days, Geeta Nagar Police Station will get its own permanent address and permanent building.
Today’s solemn ceremony was attended by Guwahati City Police Commissioner Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Joint Police Commissioner Shri Ankur Jain, along with top departmental officials and a large number of police personnel. Senior police officials reiterated their commitment to controlling crime in the area and providing prompt service to the general public.
The presence of local people, eminent personalities from various fields and members of the police force created a beautiful and encouraging atmosphere at the event.
