Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the first visa application centre in Northeast India in Guwahati. Set up by ‘VFS Global’ in the building of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Khanapara, this centre will allow the people of Assam and the Northeast to apply for visas for Cyprus, Egypt, Ireland, Japan, Malta, Morocco and the United Kingdom.
It is worth mentioning that this centre will also have the facility for Schengen visa applications, and those who obtain this visa will be able to travel to 29 countries in Europe. This centre will make international travel services easily accessible to the people of the Northeast and will bring many countries of the world closer to the Northeast.
