Samsung’s ‘Galaxy Empowered’ programme poised to boost educational technology sectors in Bhutan

Samsung India’s ‘Galaxy Empowered’ initiative is strategically expanding into Bhutan, targeting the country’s remote education sector with immersive technology training. Since its December 2024 launch in India, the programme has certified over 4,800 teachers and aims to empower 20,000 educators across 600 schools by 2025. This expansion is expected to stimulate demand for educational technology products, including Galaxy smartphones, tablets, interactive whiteboards, and AI-driven applications.

The Gurugram-based immersion workshop hosted Bhutanese educators from multiple regions, such as Samtse, Gelephu, and Punakha, equipping them with modern digital tools designed to transform teaching environments. This collaboration with Bhutan’s Ministry of Education signals Samsung’s commitment to fostering inclusive and future-ready classrooms in underserved areas.

This initiative could catalyze economic growth by increasing demand for smart devices and EdTech infrastructure. Overall, Samsung’s ‘Galaxy Empowered’ programme is poised to accelerate EdTech penetration across South Asia, enhancing educational outcomes while driving market expansion in strategically significant regions.
