The inaugural ceremony of the four-day International Conference on the Cultural and Historical Significance of His Holiness the Sixth Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso, took place with participation from scholars, monks, and delegates from India and globally. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the conference’s global aim to deepen understanding of the Sixth Dalai Lama’s legacy. He attended a prayer ceremony at Tawang Monastery, underscoring the event’s significance as a celebration of the Dalai Lama’s spiritual and cultural contributions. Khandu remarked that knowledge of His Holiness’s teachings remains limited, despite his poetic fame, emphasizing the need for broader recognition of his wisdom. Born in 1683, Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso continues to be a source of inspiration for humanity through his teachings and compassion, which Khandu hopes will illuminate paths for future generations.
