Two Local Girls Rescued as GPRN/NSCN Cracks Sex Trafficking Network in Dimapur

The Crime Control Cell (CCC) of GPRN/NSCN has disrupted an organised sex trafficking network in and around Dimapur, rescuing two local females and apprehending a non-local man in a significant crackdown on illegal activity, according to officials.

The operation was conducted using specific and reliable intelligence inputs, according to the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) of GPRN/NSCN’s Kilo (Home) Affairs, Camp Khehoyi. Fazul Haque, a resident of Baragram in Assam who was living in Dimapur at the time of the arrest, has been identified as the culprit.Fazul Haque was found to have harboured victims of sex trafficking and assisted in their sexual exploitation during the course of the investigation. He allegedly admitted during questioning that he and Mohit Uddin of 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, had been involved in trafficking on a regular basis.

The MIP added that victims were frequently transported as part of the flesh trade in an Alto cab with registration number NL-07T-0770, which belonged to a person identified as Babul of Singrijan. Some people apparently filed a complaint with the Dimapur Police while the inquiry was in progress, claiming to be associated with the apprehended accused and protesting to the vehicle’s seizure. According to the MIP, the complaint was retaliatory in nature, intended to impede the investigation and minimise the gravity of human trafficking crimes.

The MIP clarified its stance by stating that every action taken during the interception, rescue, and arrest was done in compliance with due process and was backed by evidence that will be presented when needed. Additionally, it issued a warning that any effort to protect traffickers, disseminate false information, or interfere with anti-crime efforts will be met with severe consequences under the GPRN/NSCN Ahza.GPRN/NSCN reaffirmed its commitment to fighting criminal and anti-social activity and declared that it would keep taking strong action against those who exploit local residents.

According to earlier media accounts, the majority of the victims are local girls, some of whom are minors, while the majority of pimps and racketeers working in Dimapur are foreigners. In a separate instance, on October 14, 2025, NSCN (I-M) UT-I staff arrested a 31-year-old non-Naga car driver for allegedly abusing two local young girls sexually.Concerns about kids frequenting these venues and their purported ties to the organised flesh trade have also been voiced in numerous reports of nightclubs and discos functioning across Dimapur into the wee hours of the morning.
