Arunachal Minister Becomes Taekwondo Association Chief Unopposed

Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Education and Tourism, P.D Sona, has been elected unopposed as the president of the Arunachal Taekwondo Association (ATA) during its 43rd Annual General Body Meeting and executive committee election for the term 2026-2030. The election took place with the oversight of a Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, legal experts, and observers from the Sports Association of Arunachal Pradesh, alongside representatives from affiliated state organizations. Significant figures, including the Director of Sports Tadar Aapa and Director of Arunachal State Sports (ASS) Guia Karbak, were present at the election and appointment ceremony.

Following the election, appointment letters were distributed by the competent authority. In a statement to the media, the newly elected president expressed enthusiasm for his role and commitment to the organization’s growth. He thanked the outgoing team, led by Kipa Kaha, and announced a newly formed executive committee eager to elevate the status of sports and Taekwondo in Arunachal Pradesh. Sona emphasized the association’s dedication to promoting sports throughout the state, encouraging collaboration to explore new initiatives aimed at bolstering Taekwondo’s outreach. Additionally, ATA General Secretary Likha Robin reported that the election process unfolded smoothly and peacefully and expressed optimism about the new executive committee’s united teamwork in advancing Taekwondo under Sona’s leadership.
