Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka to establish the “TKM Bizintel Hub” at KWIN City in Bengaluru, marking a major step towards expanding its engineering, digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing operations in India. The MoU was signed in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Industries Minister Dr M.B. Patil, senior ministers and officials from Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Spread across 300 acres, the proposed hub will focus on testing and evaluation of mobility solutions, digital transformation across operations and intelligent manufacturing initiatives aimed at improving competitiveness across the value chain.
TKM said the project is expected to strengthen India’s role in Toyota’s global strategy by leveraging the country’s strong engineering talent and information technology ecosystem. The facility will also support the company’s localization efforts, sustainable mobility plans and carbon neutrality goals aligned with national initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the partnership reflects Karnataka’s growing position as a global investment destination and would help generate quality employment and innovation-led growth.
TKM Chairman, MD and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura said India remains a strategically important market for Toyota’s future mobility and innovation initiatives. The development could have a positive impact on Dimapur as growing automobile and technology investments are expected to improve demand for logistics, component supply chains and skilled workforce opportunities in the Northeast region.
