Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to strengthen education, skilling and healthcare initiatives across the state, benefiting more than 9.67 lakh people. The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, senior government officials and top executives of Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The initiative will cover Gandhinagar, Surat, Rajkot and Jamnagar through projects focused on community learning, digital education, technical training and healthcare infrastructure.
As part of the initiative, TKM has set up community libraries equipped with air conditioners, CCTV surveillance and solar power facilities to encourage reading habits and provide accessible learning spaces for over three lakh learners. The company has also launched a Mobile Computer Education Electric Bus in Surat to provide digital education and computer skills to around 8,000 students across five blocks in the district.
In Jamnagar, TKM has implemented the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at Government ITI to provide advanced automotive service and maintenance training across 29 trades, benefiting nearly 3,700 students. In Rajkot, the company will provide critical medical equipment to community health centres aimed at improving affordable healthcare access for around 6.5 lakh residents. Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the initiatives reflected the company’s long-term commitment towards sustainable community development and social responsibility. The development is also expected to generate positive interest in Dimapur, where growing demand for corporate-led education, healthcare and skilling initiatives has encouraged businesses and institutions to explore similar community-focused partnerships. Industry observers believe such CSR-driven projects could inspire wider investments in digital learning and healthcare support across Northeast India.
