Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, inaugurated the country’s inaugural Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Centre in Doimukh on Thursday. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the NIPUN Bharat Mission, aiming to ensure that every child achieves foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, while also being attuned to local Arunachal culture and community needs. The centre focuses on a play-based, child-centric pedagogical approach and promotes mother tongue instruction during early education. It also guarantees continuous assessment and emphasizes the importance of teacher training and active community participation in the learning process. Khandu highlighted that the successful establishment of this centre is due to a collaborative effort involving the NHPC, HDFC, Untied Fund, LADF from the Pare Hydro Project, and CSR contributions. He expressed his gratitude to Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek and all stakeholders for their dedication and also commended the District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner Visakha Yadav for her proactive role in transforming this vision into reality.
