Dy CM Calls for Stronger Wildlife Protection Measures in Arunachal Pradesh

On World Wildlife Day, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving the state’s rich biodiversity. He urged the public to protect forests and endangered species, emphasizing the significance of Arunachal Pradesh’s vast forests which harbor some of the world’s rarest and most majestic wildlife. Mein called upon citizens to be “responsible stewards of nature,” stressing that conservation transcends mere protection and encompasses the maintenance of ecological balance vital for sustaining all forms of life. He urged a collective reaffirmation of the dedication to safeguard the invaluable natural heritage for future generations. The global celebration of World Wildlife Day aligns with this year’s theme, “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods,” which underscores the critical need to conserve these plants for their health benefits and cultural significance.
